Jack Canfield and Mark V. Hansen GIFT blessed to give

Jack Canfield and Mark V. Hansen

GIFT blessed to give

Kerf Bennet told us about this touching incident, which happened in the bus en route to one of the country roads of the American South.

One seat is a thin white-haired old man, who was holding a bouquet of fresh flowers. Across the aisle sat a girl, enthusiastically admiring the colors neighbor. Finally the old man's time to go, and then instinctively he laid flowers on my knees girl.

- I see you liked it - he explained - and certainly my wife would also be glad if they would get to you.

The girl accepted the gift, and then saw the old man got off the bus and headed through the gates of a small cemetery.

A friend of mine named Paul received from his brother as a Christmas gift a car. Just before Christmas, when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin hovering around a new shiny car, openly admiring her.

- It's your car, mister? - He asked. Paul nodded.

- My brother gave it to me for Christmas. The boy was astounded.

- You want to say that they received the car from his brother and it did not cost you anything? My friend, how I wish ...

Oh, of course, Paul knew what it was like this little creature! To him was the same rich brother. However, what he said was a complete surprise for Paul.

- How I wish, - continued the boy - be in the place of your brother.

Paul looked in amazement at his companion, then under the influence of internal gust asked:

- Want a ride?

- Oh, yes, with great pleasure.

After a short trip the boy turned to Paul and with shining eyes, said:

- Mister, could you slow down in front of my house?

Paul smiled weakly. He again seemed as if he knows what to think about his interlocutor. Surely he wants them to all the neighbors saw him coming home on a big beautiful car. But Paul was mistaken.

- Stop, please, here, next to these two steps, - asked the boy.

He ran up the stairs. After a few moments, Paul again heard his steps, but this time he trod carefully, as carried on the shoulders of his younger brother paralyzed. He sat him down to the bottom step, close to him and pointed to the car:

- You see, Buddy? All because, as I told you up there. His brother gave him a car for Christmas, and it did not cost him a cent. And someday I will give you exactly the same ... so that you can yourself choose between one of those beautiful gifts that I saw exhibited in holiday windows and on who was going to tell you.

Paul got out and sat paralyzed boy in the front seat. His beaming with happiness older brother took his place behind, and three of them went to an unforgettable Christmas stroll through the city.

During the pre-holiday evening, Paul understood that Jesus meant when he said: "blessed to give than to receive ..."
