Jill Edwards Arrange your priorities

Arrange your priorities

When a few years ago, I conducted seminars on one of the Greek islands, my lesson was devoted to the inner journey, where my students were supposed to meet with their own locks. After the seminar I was approached by a pupil of mine - a young man - and explained what happened to him.

He imagined that goes to the end of the pier, but never managed to finish his journey, because he was afraid. He added that the future seemed to him vague, and I helped him to repeat the same inner journey. At the end of the pier was a tent, and the boy felt that death awaits him there. I encouraged him and persuaded her to come inside, holding a pupil in his trembling hands in horror.

At first he doubted, but then still had the courage to enter the tent. There he saw a silhouette reminiscent of man dressed in a dark sweatshirt with a hood. He asked Death why she came here, and she told him: "I came here as your friend. You're always afraid of life. You lived only half, because you tormented by fear. But now I'm here, and you're afraid of me. Now then you begin to live a full life? "

At his seminars, I sometimes ask students to imagine that they have to live only two years. It was assumed that they have excellent health and have no problems with money. What they will do? What to spend the remaining time? Your own response may clarify some areas of your life, which so far are in balance, or those that you are trying to ignore or postpone "for later".

Some students realize that very little attention to their loved ones, others would prefer to travel around the world or engage in his favorite hobby. Someone is trying to find a quiet sanctuary for rest days, while others remember that they were not implemented well to reflect it. There were also those who wish to change the profession or to write a novel learn the art of feng shui to work or volunteer in the hospice. (No one, however, as I recall, did not declare that all the time would have given watching TV or shopping. However, studies prove that this is how most people spend their leisure time!)

Only a few said that would not change anything if they knew that they still live only a year or two. Most of us relate to their daily lives as if we are forever on the earth. Sometimes you want to display a fatal illness or death of a loved one, or some other serious mental injury only to ensure that we clearly understood: and I, and you will someday die. Our time on earth is limited, and from this it becomes even more expensive. It is better to understand this now and not wait until we get it to recognize any crisis! Shamans believe the death of "wise counselor", as he met with her, we begin to really appreciate life instead of take it for granted.

What for you is most important? Do you devote enough time and energy I give to your relatives, children, friends, work, creativity, spiritual growth, adventure, your own body and health, his home and yourself? Why not think about it now and do not make the order of priority: that for you all, and what may turn out to be a minor?

This can be done at least in order to then, he met with death in fact, no longer feel no regrets, have no pending cases, the unmet hopes and dreams. (Who knows? Maybe you really have to live only a year or two. No one can give any guarantees about this.)

I spend my time wisely, knowing that it is precious.
