10 stages of initiation

(Excerpt from the Gate of Initiation)

Stage I

The next exercise is to the thoughts that are undesirable, but, nevertheless, get into his head to keep his spirit. For example, we should be able to do no work and did not hold his head troubles, when we got home from work. We must conclude, and c are the thoughts that have no relation to our personal lives, and to ensure that immediately come home and become a different person. Conversely, if we are at work, we must devote its operations exclusively thoughts and not to prevent them from spinning somewhere far away, at home or somewhere else. Need to do this for so long until it becomes a habit. Above all we must get used to the fact that everything you do at work or at home, done with full consciousness, whether it comes to big or small. This exercise should take through life, as it sharpens the spirit, strengthens the mind and memory.

If this exercise, you have achieved certain skills, then you can take up this exercise. It is to hold one single idea or one single idea a long time, and other thoughts that are mixed in to it and imposed by force, firmly repressed. Select the discretion of a train of thought or ideas, or any appropriate representation. Struggling to grasp the idea. All other thoughts that have nothing to do with this idea selected, aggressively displaces. At first, you can only do it for a few seconds, then within a few minutes. You need to reach in order to be able to keep the idea and follow it for at least ten minutes.

If you manage this, then you are ready for the next exercise.

The next task we need to learn to play the complete absence of thought. It is convenient to lie on your couch, bed or sit in a chair and relax your entire body. Close your eyes. Vigorously throw away any thoughts appear. Your spirit does not appear to be, shall prevail only an absolute emptiness. Hold a state of emptiness, not distracting and do not forget. Initially you will be able to do this only for a few seconds, but after repeated exercises you will work out a better and better. The purpose of exercises will achieve it, if you managed to stay in this state, the full ten minutes, not forgetting and not falling asleep.
