Much of NLP, and especially the processes on the time demands that we have practical knowledge of their "parts" and on the part of reason, which we call the "sub". (Again, remember that this is the only way to discuss the processes and phenomena - "map", not "the territory"!)
Sometimes we use the term "of" to refer to unwanted and uncontrolled behaviors and features of the nervous system that underlie such behaviors. Such "of" identity are the result of, mainly, significant emotional painful experiences. What does this have to the subconscious? Before proceeding, we want to discuss how this relates to the process of joining the "trans". Do not interpret these terms ( "consciousness", "unconscious", "cross", "hypnosis") literally or as something tangible. We use them because we find them useful - as we find useful to say that the sun "rises" and "go". We use these words carefully! Middle Ages is over - we do not buy ptolemeevu model of the universe - but we continue to say that the sun rises and goes. We do it for the sake of convenience. In terms of "the people in the world", these terms are. Same with the other terms.
"Consciousness" is defined in the dictionary as "knowledge of their own existence and the existence of the environment". This is consistent with how we use this word. We use the word "mind" to refer to awareness of internal or external incentives. In the human nervous system receives approximately two million bits of information per second. In order to maintain a healthy mind, our mind filters out most of these incentives. Miller (Miller, 1956) found that we usually can only deal with seven plus or minus two bits of information at a time.
To illustrate the process of filtering most of the information, we suggest you pay attention to the fact that a moment ago you down the awareness of his big toe, right foot, left upper canine, etc. This indicates a difference between what we consciously maintain awareness and by how much information is in our subconscious.
Imagine your mind as the room. The flashlight in the dark room highlights the part that you are worrying as "consciousness". When you light upon the objects in this room, you see the contents of the room and get information about it - as in the case of conscious awareness. In each moment we see only a small part of what we know. We describe our consciousness as a natural process of neural interactions through which we can see, hear, know and, therefore, to choose. Obviously, the word "mind" and "sub" are merely metaphors. We can not determine their location in the brain. These words allow us to talk about the functions of the brain, but not the real essence. Site never be equal to the territory!
Consciousness in the GLP understand how the level of awareness that we kodiruem with the help of a representative system. Element in memory is represented as the combination of pictures, sounds, tactile sensations, tastes, smells and words. When the intensity of signal or stimulus above a certain threshold are moved to the representation of consciousness. When the external or internal stimulus stimulates memory, it becomes conscious of a certain modality. Interaction between the intensity of external stimulus and state of the nervous system determines representation becomes conscious or not. Therefore, we believe that our main representative system will send the strongest signals. Therefore, our consciousness will be presented primarily in the main representative system (Dilts, 1983).
Unconsciously behavior is called a representative system in a specific stimulus of low intensity. Such a representation would be implemented by using one of the least developed of representative systems. Man will not be aware of the incentives. Thus, many (if not the largest) part of our behavior is not understood. We breathe, move, remember, talking, etc. unconsciously. Usually we are aware only of the contents of ideas, but not all internal processes that make it possible. This is like the picture on the TV screen or computer monitor - we see only the final result, but not processes.
Unconsciously behavior is called a representative system in a specific stimulus of low intensity.
Perhaps, in order to know was automatic and was perceived as a part of ourselves, we must have to process this new information into consciousness. When driving a car, we consciously learn to use the lever of transmissions, gas pedals, brakes, steering wheel, etc., are not yet able to maintain a car, without thinking about it (!). New knowledge becomes a "second" I "", "intuitive" or "unconscious". In NLP, we describe this as the movement of knowledge from the main representative system in a primary. When we need to keep the car, the behavior of "activated" itself. We do not need to deliberately run a program "driving". We can take the consciousness of something other! In doing so, our reaction is carried out automatically. This occurs at the level of unconsciously. It's amazing, is not it? Is it while driving, you remember how to drive a car? No. Your "program" is driving in some parts of your neosoznavaemoy p sihiki. (And someone said that it is - the result of evolution, we do not think so.)
Our subconscious (neosoznavaemaya part of the psyche) is dealing with the enormous amount of information that resides outside of awareness. Neurophysiology stimulated human brain using electrodes and found that people will not feel pain because the brain has no pain receptors. The patient may remain in the mind at the time of the study. During these experiments, people celebrate the memories of the events of his childhood. Describing these memories, they can even imitate the voice of the child. People keep them in some neosoznavaemoy part of the brain, and stimulation activates memories and brings them into consciousness.
These experiments inform us that our consciousness writes a lot of events, as well as our emotional reactions. Neurophysiology and cognitive psychologists suggest that the brain stores primarily to the events that occur when we are in a tense emotional state.
Subliminal - everything that is not understood at this time.
Using the term "unconscious", we mean "no conscious". Can we build on the awareness - it is another matter. Some aspects of the brain, apparently, completely inaccessible to us. Other dimensions are available to us, if we look for and develop skills such access.
Sigmund Freud used the term and invested it, many false ideas. He treated the unconscious as the "id". According to Freud, "id" includes our sexual desires and needs of primitive aggression, rivalry, violence, etc. He was also convinced that these requirements are beyond our control (not too useful persuasion!). Due to the fact that he gave this term in such a value, it stigmatized the very notion of "unconscious" - he did it with what is fear, fear and avoid. In NLP it is not. We believe neosoznavaemy aspect of the psyche of one of the abilities and, consequently, a partner and not an enemy. It would be more accurate to describe this phenomenon as "different from conscious", just pointing out that we are not aware of it.
In NLP we believe neosoznavaemy one aspect of the psyche of human capabilities and thus different, and not the enemy.
Given this, it can be argued that much of our expertise lies outside of conscious awareness. Perceived part (content) of communication - it is only part of the message. When we try to communicate only through a conscious process, communicative ability is reduced. In this "is not based on consciousness" model of the mind we see our consciousness as a gift from the subconscious. But again, so, the mind works best when the subconscious has all the resources.
We found that the question "What do you want?" Customer often gives a quick response. Then, during further investigation, the client understands that, in fact, he did not want to. He wanted it in their minds (perhaps he thought that it "should" want it), but later, when he learned about some of their less conscious values and beliefs, he found his true desire. At the same time it gives him more subliminal truth (about himself), rather than consciousness.
This should not be a surprise for us. After all, our subconscious takes care of us. We certainly do not control the heart, lungs, kidneys, glands, immune system and so deliberately. We have two nervous systems - the central and autonomous, and the function of the autonomous nervous system is to keep breathing, sleeping, waking, movement, thinking, etc. Psychotherapist will attempt to cause different long-term sustainable change on these neosoznavaemyh levels.
