Problem of change.

Problem of change.

Samoizmenenie - this is a problem. Fortunately, there are some general principles that facilitate the solution.

Start with light. A good idea - start with the habits and situations that are relatively easy to cope. Leave the really difficult problems later on, when you have to be made and accumulated confidence. Jewish wisdom states that: "The key to everything is how you start" and advises "Start moderately, a sincere effort by all the higher spheres, and [eventually] dostignesh Heights, which not wanted."

Choose the length of practice. Determine the test duration exercise. The decision never again have unhealthy foods throughout the rest of his life sounds wonderful, but probably would be too heavy. It is better to experiment with a healthy diet for one day, to give her full attention, and to achieve success than hesitant to try it for months, and fail.

Do not make exceptions. Until the new habit becomes established, it is best to not make any exceptions. If you will arrive in time to meet during the week, try to get them all the time.

Watch and learn. In each experiment, changes in study, you are worrying that in the course of its development. What do you feel? What resistance do you feel? How do other people react? The idea here is to learn as much as possible in the process of change.

Be gentle. Be kind to yourself and the bear. If you make a mistake or do not reach the goal, the fact that you people, but human beings are imperfect. Remember that this is practice. If you could perform them perfectly, you would not want to practice it.

Start afresh. If you stumble (and with whom this is not?) To start afresh as soon as possible. It does not matter that you failed or made a mistake, as long as you start to exercise again. To win, you need only succeed once more, than to fail.

All the record. Good to keep a diary or notebook in which you will record your goals, as well as their insights and observations, mistakes and successes. Fixing objectives clarifies and strengthens the resolve. Studies show that people who write down their goals are much more likely to succeed than those who had not.
Keeping a diary does not need to turn to serious work - just a few minutes a day of records can be very valuable. Record contributed to the crystallization guesswork, cheat protections forgetfulness, and form a collection of ideas and thought that, even years later, may lead to further speculation. For centuries, Jewish and Muslim teachers praised the advantages of reference journals, and their recommendations are now second modern psychologists.

To do everything with pleasure. This little-known secret of spiritual practice. It is quite possible - and even great - good to spend time. We are accustomed to consider the religious life of courageous self-sacrifice, a sacred - serious martyrs. We forget that one of the goals of spiritual practice - it is the joy (and, ultimately, bliss). Saints and sages, with whom I met are among the happy people from all whom I ever knew. (In this book I use the word "sacred" to describe the spiritual mature person, a "wise man" - as to who in addition is a special wisdom.)
In gaining the pleasure there is nothing selfish. Indeed, as has long been said the wise men, and how since then, psychologists have found happiness makes people less concerned about their own interests and more altruistically.

The most important thing - to practice

Most importantly, that you actually performed, and the practice of their activity, rather than simply read about them. Those who read fast, probably swallow the whole book in a few hours and make a lot of exciting ideas, but very little change. We get to practice what to invest it. Exercises will transform you to the extent that you do and apply them in their daily lives. Perhaps when you first read the book you do not want to do all the exercises, but I recommend that at least some of each chapter, and then return to rest. According to the Buddha said 2500 years ago and to keep their equity and to this day:

What would be the holy words you do not read,
How many would not have made,
What you sense from them,
If you do not apply them in practice?

Roger Walsh, from the book "7 practices for awakening the heart and mind."
