For him there is only one question: "Are you happy now?" If the answer is "yes", then you are already in paradise. If the answer is "no", he simply said, "Why not?"

You can teach him thirty pages of explanations of their misery, but again he said, "Why not?" And sooner or later, you will realize that all the reasons why you are not happy, do not respond to his question.

Because you can be happy right now, and nothing but the stubborn desire to wallow in the past, does not prevent you to make that choice.

All that can mentor - is to ask, "Why not?" He is not in a position to point you what to do or what not to do, because the responsibility is for doing so and for not doing, you bring.

All that a master can do is encourage you to take on such a responsibility here and now.

Teachers who tell you what to do or what not to do, find your own spiritual immaturity. A wise teacher asks good questions, and the board is very small.
